General Submission Rules

Original, currently unsubmitted, unpublished and
unaccepted work in English, typed or word-processed,
single-sided, double-spaced (prose), 8 1/2 x 11 (or A4),
pages numbered, no staples. To assure blind judging,
include with each entry a SEPARATE cover page giving
your name/ address/ tel.#, title(s), date of entry, brief
literary bio and accurate word count. The entrant may
stipulate on the cover page that the entry includes "First
Canadian Rights" up to the proposed date of the
publication. Title only on each page. No revisions after
submission. Entries will not be critiqued or returned.

Exceptions noted will require a self-addressed stamped
(or with IRC) envelope (SASE). Fees (if any) in Canadian
$.

Deadline is postmark. Should an entry be published
elsewhere before the winners are declared, the entrant
should notify the contest organizers immediately. Send
inquiries (advised) to addresses given, for verification of
rules or any further info.

Entries: Open eligibility. Any number of poems of up to 60 lines each. Send 2 copies, one blind.
Fee: $5 per poem ($4 US outside Canada), payable to the Valley Writers' Guild. ($2/poem for VWG members).
Prizes: $500 + plaque, $100, $50 and 5 HMs. All 8 to be published in The Grist Mill Vol. 10. Bios will be solicited.
